Oil supply gear and return side gear are the same width as the genuine HD aluminum pump. The S\u0026amp;S pinion and oil pump driveshaft drive gear increase oil supply by 25% over genuine parts in pre-1972 engines. The oil pressure relief passage is machined to alleviate pressure buildup at the top of the valve and maintain stable oil pressure. The oil pressure adjustment bypass directs excess oil directly to the pump supply side, reducing the amount of oil returned to the tank and decreasing oil foaming and cavitation. The standard pump cover allows for oil system flexibility with many oil feed and return options.
