Compared to aluminum, titanium has lower thermal conductivity, so even if the caliper temperature rises, heat is less likely to transfer to the fluid, resulting in stable brake feel.
The surface is protected from scratches by a highly hard and abrasion-resistant TiN (titanium nitride) coating.
