Founder Sante Mazzarolo named the company "Alpinestars" after the Star Alpina, a flower that grows at the highest elevations of the Alps, which, according to him, can only be seen by those who strive, reflecting his desire to deliver the best products and services worldwide.
In the 1970s, Alpinestars dominated the motocross boot market worldwide and caused a sensation in the road racing world with Kenny Roberts.
Mick Doohan won five MotoGP championships with Alpinestars boots.
