【New Front Tire Shape】
By reducing the diameter of the front tire's crown shape, the contact patch between the tire and the road surface, when the vehicle is leaned into a corner, becomes longer in the front-to-back direction of the vehicle. This increases the force that turns the vehicle (camber thrust), contributing to improved agile cornering performance.
【Dedicated Compound Adoption】
We re-evaluated the compound design at a molecular level and developed a compound that improves the contact between the tire and the road surface at a micro-level. This compound is used in the shoulder sections of both the front and rear tires, which are crucial during cornering, resulting in improved cornering grip performance.
【ULTIMAT EYE】
Bridgestone's unique tire development technology that measures and visualizes the contact patch behavior of a tire under actual driving conditions.
Conventional tire development has followed a process of simulation, prototyping, and performance verification through indoor measurements and actual vehicle tests. ULTIMAT EYE can reproduce high-speed driving conditions equivalent to an actual vehicle indoors and visualize the behavior of the tire's contact patch. This allows for highly accurate analysis and performance verification based on scientific evidence, in addition to traditional actual vehicle tests. The testing machine used for this measurement and analysis can handle speeds up to 400 km/h and bank angles up to 60 degrees.
【Rear Tire Design】
By utilizing ULTIMAT EYE in the structural design of the rear tire, we were able to precisely understand the sliding behavior of the tire on the road surface at the contact patch, which was not visible with previous analysis techniques. We successfully reduced the slip area significantly. This reduced wear and achieved approximately a 30% improvement in wear life.

・The three-dimensional shaped groove ends increase tread rigidity, improving cornering grip.
・Lag grooves extending beyond the centerline optimize the tread rigidity of the center section, improving road contact and agility.
・Rib blocks in the center of the rear tire suppress slippage and improve wear life (ULTIMAT EYE).
・The shoulder section has a slick groove arrangement, providing a large contact patch and improving cornering grip.
