Glass wool is a consumable item that will eventually break apart and scatter. Replace it proactively before its original sound-deadening function is compromised. Each comes with a soft stainless steel wire for fastening.
One-point advice:
When wrapping glass wool, if it's wrapped loosely, it will dampen sound but is prone to scattering; if wrapped tightly, it becomes less effective at dampening sound. Therefore, work with a balance in mind. When wrapping, ensure the cloth side faces the exhaust passage side (inside).
