Glass wool is a consumable item and will eventually disperse. Replace it promptly before its original sound-deadening function is compromised. Each comes with a soft stainless steel wire for fastening.
One-point advice:
When wrapping glass wool, wrapping it loosely will muffle sound but it will disperse easily, while wrapping it tightly will make it harder to muffle sound. Therefore, work with balance in mind. When wrapping, make sure the cloth side faces the exhaust passage (inner side).
