・Silicate-free radiator coolant.
・Silicates are substances that prevent aluminum corrosion, but at high concentrations, silica can accumulate. This accumulation can cause blockages in water passages and damage seals, which is why an increasing number of vehicles recommend silicate-free coolants. KTM switched to silicate-free coolants for their 2015 street models and 2016 off-road models. This long-life coolant (LLC) uses OAT (Organic Acid Technology) to prevent aluminum corrosion without nitrates, phosphates, or amines, and also suppresses cavitation (*1). By not forming a silicate layer, it helps reduce thermal load. It removes air bubbles generated in the water line, suppresses water temperature rise, prevents freezing, and prevents rust.
*1 Cavitation: A physical phenomenon in which bubbles form and disappear rapidly due to pressure differences in a liquid flow. The collapse of these bubbles can damage water passages.
*Precautions:
・To avoid mixing with other antifreeze fluids, thoroughly flush out old antifreeze with running water before use.
