・Standard springs have a characteristic where the load stiffens linearly in proportion to the amount of suspension compression, whereas progressive springs are soft at the initial compression and resist strongly when deeply compressed. For small bumps, the suspension moves well and absorbs impact effectively, reducing rider fatigue and lowering the center of gravity during riding, allowing for stable cornering. When passing over large bumps or landing from jumps, hard bottoming out is less likely. Additionally, the soft initial compression improves foot plant.
