The GMX Mach Eighty boots employ the traditional Northern Italian manufacturing method, the Norwegian welt construction, also known as "Norvegiese," said to "last 100 years." A major advantage of the Norwegian welt construction is its extremely high sole rigidity. This method has been a focus of Gaerne's founder, Mr. Gazzola, since the company's inception, something that can only be created with the skill of a true craftsman. This is also why Gaerne boots are still made in Italy.
