【GAERNE FUGA Green On-Road Motorcycle Boots】Smooth uppers made from carefully selected single-piece leather, and diagonally offset openings. These riding boots are crafted with luxurious playfulness, something only true craftsmen can achieve.
With FUGA, our goal was to balance providing the necessary features for riding with enhancing the shoe's inherent functionality.
To create the optimal riding environment, the upper, which forms the instep of the shoe, is made from a single piece of leather, and the opening is offset. Forming the upper from a single piece of leather is a luxurious use of material, resulting in significant waste and, consequently, higher costs. However, the seamless form, in addition to its aesthetic beauty, offers a comfortable, flexible fit for the foot. The smooth surface with minimal protrusions also allows for seamless contact with the motorcycle.
Furthermore, the offset opening specifically embodies this concept. The shoelace position, which can interfere with riding, is shifted outward, and the laces are secured with a snap button. This results in a clean, smart appearance that enhances the refined design.
【Upper Material】
ANFIBIO leather is a premium full-grain leather allowed only for Gaerne's high-end models. It is exceptionally durable yet becomes soft with wear. It is also highly resistant to dirt and possesses a certain degree of water resistance (though it is not completely waterproof). Dyed ANFIBIO leather takes on an uneven color, creating a unique texture. The way the color changes over time is also a significant characteristic of this leather.
【Sole Construction】
What truly defines this shoe is its Norwegian construction, also known as "Norvegiese." This method of stitching the shoe's upper, insole, and outsole together with unique lockstitching offers various benefits. These include a thick, shape-retaining sole, extremely high rigidity, robust construction for longevity, and the ability to resole the shoe. As a staple in high-end men's shoes, it has historically been the optimal method for crafting durable and beautifully finished footwear. However, its drawback is the cost due to the complex processes involved. Consequently, many shoes may appear to be Norwegian or Goodyear welted but are, in fact, not. This shoe was produced with the desire to deliver an authentic product, regardless of such costs. Gaerne refers to shoes like the No.145 and FUGA as "integral shoes," meaning "shoes that completely envelop the foot."
