*1. Regarding compatibility, in addition to the overall length, the travel length is also important.
Travel length = (inner cable) - (outer cable)
If the cable is longer than required, it will not pull properly, and the clutch will not disengage.
*2. For all model years, Dyna models are slightly longer (around 2 inches) than Softail models, so BT cables are designed to match Dyna OEM specifications. The travel length is the same.
*3. The travel length for XL models from '04 onwards and Big Twin models up to '06 is the same.
