Regarding compatibility, in addition to the overall length, the travel length is also an issue. Travel length = (inner cable) - (outer cable). If it is longer than necessary, it will not pull properly, and the clutch will not disengage. *2. Dyna models are slightly longer (approx. 2 inches) than Softail models for all model years, so the BT models are designed to match the Dyna OEM. The travel length is the same. *3. The travel length for XL models from '04 onwards and Big Twin models up to '06 is the same. *4. Please note that the length data is "actual measurement" and may vary slightly. Compatible with: Big Twin models from '87 to '99, XL models from '04 onwards (oversized).
