■Product Description This is a Metaform gasket for TM sprockets from 1982-85, designed to prevent oil leaks from the mainshaft section of Shovelhead transmissions. It's a special gasket created to prevent oil leaks from the original metal-to-metal contact surface between the sprocket and the main drive gear spacer when used in between them. This gasket prevents oil leaks from the gap between the spacer and the sprocket. To further prevent oil leaks, always use a Duo-Seal nut, which has an O-ring that fits into the nut's seating surface, for the sprocket nut. Specifications: Thickness: 0.6mm, ID: 38.5mm, OD: 52.4mm Manufacturer's Notes: *A lock tab is not necessary. Using one would create a metal-on-metal contact point from which oil could leak. For models from 1980 onwards, please use a locking bolt. This design prevents oil leaks from the entire system by using an O-ring to prevent oil leaks between the sprocket surface and the metal surface of the nut.
