■According to safety regulations, commercial vehicles with a gross vehicle weight of 7t or more are obligated to install "large rear reflectors". For vehicles produced on or after September 1, 2011, installation of products that satisfy the technical requirements of UN R70 is mandatory.
【Regarding partial revisions to the "Road Transport Vehicle Safety Standards," etc.】

On January 30, 2007, the official gazette announced that the "Agreement concerning the adoption of uniform conditions for periodical technical inspections of wheeled vehicles and the reciprocal recognition of such inspections (Regulation No. 70)" (UN R70) would be adopted from April 1, 2007 (mandatory application for vehicles produced on or after September 1, 2011).
Accordingly, the "Road Transport Vehicle Safety Standards" (Ministry of Transport Ordinance No. 67 of 1951), "Notification stipulating the details of the Road Transport Vehicle Safety Standards" (Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Notification No. 619 of 2002), etc., were revised.
●The types of reflectors to be used are limited to "striped (zebra) type" for trucks and tractors, and "framed type" for trailers.
●Changes in installation requirements (*See "Installation Position" below)
Height: Upper edge 1.5m or less → Lower edge 0.25m or more above ground, upper edge 1.5m or less above ground (however, if installation is difficult due to the structure of the vehicle, 2.1m or less)
●Enlargement
Rectangle with sides of 130mm or more, Reflective area: 800cm2 or more, Fluorescent area: 400cm2 or more → Length (total for 2 or 4 pieces) 1,130mm to 2,300mm
・For trucks/tractors: Width: 140±10mm, Stripe width: 100±2.5mm
・For trailers: Width: 200 +30/-5mm, Border: 40±1mm

Retroreflective coefficient 122cd/lx/m2 → 300cd/lx/m2 (2.5 times current)
