This makes packing the silencer much easier. Exhaust that is not packed densely enough may sound quiet at first, but after a while the packing material shifts and empty spaces form. The silencer becomes loud again and the packing material wears out quickly. If the packing is too dense: The wool will have a longer lifespan, but noise reduction will be insufficient. The exhaust may even be louder than without wool. Do not pack the wool too tightly. Even if the muffler is full, you should be able to push the material in 2-3 cm, and there should be enough "play" inside the silencer. Replace the end cap. The gap between the cap and the silencer body can be further sealed using heat-resistant silicone.
