"Iridium Racing" - a racing-specific iridium plug that maximizes the performance of iridium.
● 0.8mm square all-platinum ground electrode
Compared to the nickel alloy used for the ground electrodes of conventional spark plugs, platinum has a higher melting point,
reducing problems such as melting and wear of the ground electrode even under the severe racing conditions.
In addition, a 0.8mm square platinum alloy is welded and gap-formed without bending, resulting in no residual stress and improved durability. *Excludes RU01
● 0.4mm diameter ultra-fine iridium center electrode
By adopting the high-melting point "new iridium alloy", the tip of the center electrode is made extremely fine. This reduces spark voltage and significantly improves ignition performance. *Excludes RU01
● Flame cleaning pocket
A small gap has been created all around the tip of the clearance between the center electrode and the insulator. This burns off carbon when fouled or carbon-fouled, restoring insulation.
● Silicone oil application
For racing vehicles, fouling and carbon deposits before starting are fatal. To prevent this,
the water repellent properties of silicone on the insulator separate moisture and carbon from the insulator surface, preventing a drop in the plug's insulation.
● Chamfering of housing end face
To improve resistance to abnormal combustion, the chamfering on the housing end face has been enlarged.
This helps to cover slight deviations in settings.
In addition, it facilitates the discharge of residual gases and the inflow of new gases, improving self-cleaning performance and making it less prone to fouling.
