"Iridium Racing," a race-specific iridium plug that maximizes the performance of iridium.
● 0.8mm Square All-Platinum Ground Electrode
Compared to the nickel alloy used for ground electrodes in conventional spark plugs, platinum has a higher melting point,
reducing problems with melting or wear of the ground electrode even under severe racing conditions.
In addition, a 0.8mm square platinum alloy is welded and gap-formed without bending, eliminating residual stress and improving durability. *Excluding RU01
● 0.4mm Diameter Ultra-Fine Iridium Center Electrode
By adopting the high-melting-point material "new iridium alloy," the tip of the center electrode has been made ultra-fine. This reduces flashover voltage and significantly improves ignition performance. *Excluding RU01
● Flame Cleaning Pocket
A small gap has been created all around the tip of the clearance between the center electrode and the insulator. This burns off carbon when the plug is fouled or carbonized, restoring insulation.
● Silicone Oil Application
For racing vehicles, fouling and carbon adhesion before starting are fatal. To prevent this,
the water repellency of silicone on the insulator causes moisture and carbon on the insulator surface to separate, preventing a decrease in the plug's insulation.
● Housing End Face Chamfering
To improve resistance to abnormal combustion, the chamfering on the housing end face has been enlarged.
This can compensate for slight tuning discrepancies.
In addition, residual gas is easily discharged and new gas flows in easily, improving self-cleaning performance and making the structure less prone to fouling.
