"Iridium Racing," an iridium plug developed exclusively for racing that maximizes the performance of iridium.
●0.8mm square all-platinum ground electrode
Compared to the nickel alloy used in conventional spark plug ground electrodes, platinum has a higher melting point, so
problems with the ground electrode melting and wear are reduced even under harsh racing conditions.
Additionally, a 0.8mm square platinum alloy is welded and the gap is formed without bending, eliminating residual stress and improving durability. *Excluding RU01
●0.4mm diameter ultra-fine iridium center electrode
By adopting the high-melting point material "new iridium alloy," the tip of the center electrode has been made ultra-fine. This reduces the spark voltage and significantly improves ignition performance. *Excluding RU01
●Flame cleaning pocket
A small gap has been created all around the tip of the clearance between the center electrode and the insulator. This burns off carbon when the plug is fouled or carbon-fouled, restoring insulation.
●Silicone oil application
For racing vehicles, fouling and carbon deposits before starting are fatal. To prevent this,
the water repellency of the silicone on the insulator separates moisture and carbon from the insulator surface, preventing a decrease in the plug's insulation.
●Chamfered housing end face
The chamfering of the housing end face has been increased to improve resistance to abnormal combustion.
This also covers slight setting deviations.
Furthermore, it facilitates the discharge of residual gas and the influx of new gas, improving self-cleaning performance, making it less prone to fouling.
