The Iridium Racing plug, an iridium plug designed exclusively for racing, maximizes iridium performance.
●0.8mm square all-platinum ground electrode
Compared to the nickel alloy used for the ground electrode of conventional spark plugs, platinum has a higher melting point,
reducing problems such as melting or wear of the ground electrode even under the harsh driving conditions of racing.
In addition, a 0.8mm square platinum alloy is welded and gap-formed without bending, eliminating residual stress and improving durability. *Excluding RU01
●0.4mm diameter ultra-fine iridium center electrode
By adopting the high-melting point material "new iridium alloy," the tip of the center electrode has been made ultra-fine. This reduces spark voltage and significantly improves ignition performance. *Excluding RU01
●Flame cleaning pocket
A small gap has been provided around the entire circumference of the tip of the clearance between the center electrode and the insulator. When the plug is fouled or carbonized, carbon is burned off to restore insulation.
●Silicone oil coating
For racing vehicles, fouling and carbon adhesion before starting is critical. To prevent this,
the water repellency of silicone on the insulator separates moisture and carbon on the insulator surface, preventing a decrease in the plug's insulation performance.
●Chamfered housing end face
To improve resistance to abnormal combustion, the chamfer on the end face of the housing has been enlarged.
This helps to cover minor tuning discrepancies.
Furthermore, it facilitates the discharge of residual gas and the influx of new gas, improving self-cleaning performance and making it more resistant to fouling.
