The timing for replacing sprockets is very ambiguous, as there is no clear standard.
One criterion for judgment is "wear on the tooth tips."
It's time to replace the sprocket if the tooth tips have become pointed, or if the belly or sides have worn down.
Replacing all three components—front and rear sprockets and chain—at the same time is recommended. If you only replace one of them, the worn parts you didn't replace will prevent the new parts from performing at their best and lasting as long as they should, leading to an earlier replacement. In the long run, replacing all three at once is more durable and therefore recommended.

Rear sprocket tooth count ÷ front sprocket tooth count = reduction ratio. A larger number indicates a greater emphasis on acceleration, while a smaller number indicates a greater emphasis on top speed.
