There is no clear standard for when to replace a sprocket, making it a very ambiguous decision.
One factor to consider is "tooth wear."
If the teeth become pointed, or if the belly or sides are worn down, it's time for a replacement.
Simultaneous replacement of all three: front and rear sprockets and chain. If you only replace one of these components, the worn parts that were not replaced will prevent the new part from performing at its original capacity and durability, leading to a shorter lifespan. Considering the long term, replacing all three simultaneously is recommended as it will last longer.
