The replacement timing for sprockets is very ambiguous, with no clear standards.
One indicator for judgment is "tooth wear."
If the teeth become pointed or the belly and sides are worn down, it's time to replace them.
If you only replace one of the front and rear sprockets and chain, the unreplaced worn parts will prevent the new parts from performing at their best and lasting as long as they should, leading to earlier replacement. Considering the long run, replacing all three simultaneously is recommended for longer life.
