There is no clear and precise standard for when to replace a sprocket, making it very ambiguous.
One criterion for judgment is "tooth wear."
If the tooth tips become sharp, or the belly or sides are worn down, it's time for replacement.
Simultaneous replacement of all three: front and rear sprockets and chain. If you only replace one of these, the worn, unreplaced parts will prevent the new parts from exhibiting their original performance and durability, leading to an earlier replacement time. Considering the long term, replacing all three simultaneously is recommended as it will last longer.
