There is no clear standard for when to replace a sprocket, making it a very ambiguous decision.
The key indicator for replacement is "tooth wear."
If the teeth have become pointed, or if the belly or sides are worn down, it's time for replacement.
When replacing sprockets, it is recommended to replace all three parts simultaneously: the front sprocket, rear sprocket, and chain. If only one part is replaced, the new part will not be able to perform to its full potential or durability due to the wear on the unreplaced parts, leading to an earlier replacement time. Therefore, in the long run, replacing all three parts simultaneously is recommended for extended lifespan.
