There is no clear standard for when to replace a sprocket, making it a very ambiguous decision.
The determining factor in such cases is "wear on the tooth tips."
It is time to replace the sprocket when the tooth tips become pointed, or if the belly or sides are worn down.
If you only replace one of the three components (front sprocket, rear sprocket, and chain) instead of all three at once, the worn parts that were not replaced will prevent the new part from performing at its full potential and durability, leading to an earlier replacement time. Therefore, considering the long-term, it is recommended to replace all three components simultaneously as they will last longer.
