There is no clear standard for when to replace a sprocket, making it a very ambiguous decision.
One way to determine this is by "tooth wear."
It's time to replace the sprocket when the teeth become pointed, or the belly or sides are worn down.
If you only replace one of the three components (front sprocket, rear sprocket, and chain), the worn parts that haven't been replaced will prevent the new part from performing optimally and lasting as long as it should. Therefore, considering the long-term, it's recommended to replace all three simultaneously, as it will last longer.
This is the front sprocket (engine side).
Made from S45C (high carbon steel), it offers both lightness and high durability.
Sprockets are consumables.
As a general guideline for normal driving, inspect your sprocket approximately every 1000km.
(Regular lubrication significantly extends the lifespan of sprockets and chains.)
The larger the reduction ratio (rear sprocket teeth ÷ front sprocket teeth), the more acceleration-oriented the motorcycle, and the smaller the ratio, the more top speed-oriented it is.
Compatible models: D-Tracker 125, KLX125
