There is no clear standard for when to replace sprockets, and it is very ambiguous.
One way to judge is by "tooth wear."
If the teeth become pointed, or the belly or sides are worn down, it's time for a replacement.
Replacing all three parts simultaneously: front and rear sprockets and chain. If you only replace one part, the worn parts that haven't been replaced will prevent the new part from performing as it should and reduce its lifespan, leading to an earlier replacement. Therefore, considering the long-term, it is recommended to replace all three parts simultaneously as they will last longer.

The larger the deceleration ratio (rear sprocket teeth ÷ front sprocket teeth), the more acceleration-oriented it is. The smaller the ratio, the more top speed-oriented it is.
