The timing for replacing a sprocket is ambiguous as there is no clear standard.
A key indicator for this decision is "tooth wear."
If the teeth become pointed, or if the belly or sides are worn down, it's time for a replacement.
We recommend replacing the front sprocket, rear sprocket, and chain all at once. If you only replace one of these components, the worn, unreplaced parts will prevent the new part from performing optimally and lasting as long as it should, leading to an earlier replacement. In the long run, replacing all three simultaneously is more cost-effective.
