The timing for replacing sprockets is very ambiguous, with no clear standards.
One factor to consider when making this decision is "tooth wear."
If the teeth have become pointed, or if the belly or sides are worn down, it's time for replacement.
Replacing all three components—front and rear sprockets and the chain—simultaneously is recommended. If you only replace one worn part, the unreplaced worn parts will prevent the new part from performing optimally and shorten its lifespan. Therefore, considering the long run, replacing all three simultaneously is better as it extends the overall lifespan.
