The timing for replacing a sprocket is very ambiguous, with no clear standard.
One indicator is "wear on the tips of the teeth."
When the tips of the teeth become pointed, or the belly or sides are worn down, it's time for a replacement.
If you only replace one of the three components (front and rear sprockets and chain), the worn parts that haven't been replaced will prevent the new parts from performing at their full potential and durability, leading to an earlier replacement time. Therefore, considering the long term, it is recommended to replace all three at the same time, as they will last longer.
