There are no clear standards for when to replace a sprocket, making it a very ambiguous decision.
The determining factor in such cases is "wear on the teeth."
If the teeth become pointed or the belly and sides are worn down, it's time for a replacement.
Replacing only one of the three components (front and rear sprockets and chain) means the worn-out parts that weren't replaced will prevent the new part from performing to its full potential and durability, leading to an earlier replacement. Therefore, considering the long run, replacing all three simultaneously is recommended for longer lifespan.
