One factor for judgment is "tooth wear."
When the teeth become pointed or the belly and sides are worn down, it's time for replacement.
It is recommended to replace the front and rear sprockets and the chain all three at the same time. If you only replace one of them, the unreplaced worn parts will cause the new parts to fail to perform at their original level or last as long, leading to an earlier replacement time. Therefore, considering the long term, replacing all three simultaneously is better as they will last longer.
This is the rear (wheel side) sprocket.
