The timing for replacing a sprocket is ambiguous, as there are no clear criteria.
One factor to consider is "wear on the tooth tips."
If the tooth tips become pointed, or the belly or sides are worn down, it's time for replacement.
Replacing all three components simultaneously: front and rear sprockets and chain. If you only replace one of these parts, the worn parts that were not replaced will prevent the new part from performing optimally and shorten its lifespan, leading to an earlier replacement. Therefore, considering the long-term, it is recommended to replace all three parts simultaneously for better longevity.
