【NGK OZA639-EM1-95010 Oxygen Sensor 95010 Total Length 320mm O2】
■Product Description
NTK O2 Sensor Detects Ideal Air-Fuel Ratio
Advanced control is required to reduce harmful substances (HC, CO, NOx) in exhaust gas. The O2 sensor plays an important role in detecting the oxygen concentration in the exhaust gas and feeding it back to the ECU*1.
The NTK O2 sensor detects the oxygen concentration in the exhaust gas and feeds it back to the ECU so that the air-fuel ratio, which is the mixture ratio of fuel and air, becomes the optimal theoretical air-fuel ratio "λ (lambda) = 1*2". If the fuel is too rich based on the theoretical air-fuel ratio according to the signal from the O2 sensor, the ECU makes the fuel leaner. If it is too lean, the ECU makes the fuel richer, thus controlling the engine near the theoretical air-fuel ratio that most effectively purifies harmful substances in the exhaust gas. In this way, the NTK O2 sensor is an important part in reducing harmful substances in exhaust gas.

Specifications
【Features and Structure】
Zirconia elements have the characteristic of generating electromotive force due to differences in oxygen concentration at temperatures exceeding 300℃. Utilizing this characteristic, zirconia type sensors detect the difference in oxygen concentration between the inside and outside of the element (atmosphere and exhaust gas) and feed back to the ECU whether the fuel is rich or lean compared to the theoretical air-fuel ratio.
Wide-range air-fuel ratio sensors can detect how rich or lean the air-fuel ratio is compared to the theoretical air-fuel ratio. Therefore, more precise engine control is possible than with zirconia O2 sensors. It also enables engine control outside the theoretical air-fuel ratio (λ=1), such as lean burn control. Furthermore, there are early-activation wide-range air-fuel ratio sensors that maintain the characteristics of conventional wide-range air-fuel ratio sensors while improving heat resistance and durability, and achieve early activation (operation starts within 5 seconds after the engine key is turned ON) through an integrated element and heater structure.
【Necessity of Replacement】
O2 sensors are constantly exposed to exhaust gases exceeding 600℃ and accumulate combustion byproducts, working in a very harsh environment.
Using a deteriorated or damaged O2 sensor can lead to various problems.
More than 5 years or 80,000 km since new*

■Precautions
O2 sensors are specially designed for each vehicle model and engine, so they are not interchangeable with other types.
(1) Always stop the engine before inspecting, replacing, or adjusting.
(2) Inspect and replace according to the service manual of each automobile manufacturer.
(3) Use an O2 sensor with the correct part number as described in this document.
(4) If used in modified vehicles, it may not function properly.
(5) Be careful, as dropping it or subjecting it to impact may break the internal ceramic element.
(6) Anti-seize compound has been applied to the threaded part of the sensor. To prevent dust and debris from adhering,
remove the protective cap just before installing the sensor.
(7) Do not wipe off the anti-seize compound.
(8) If the anti-seize compound gets on your hands or other body parts, immediately wash it off with water.
(9) Do not twist or bend the lead wire fixed to the main body.
(10) Do not use an impact wrench when installing the sensor.
(11) When installing the sensor, screw it in by hand and then use a wrench to tighten it to the following approximate torque.
【Part numbers starting with "LZA", "OZA", "OZR", "UAR"】:
Sensors with thread diameter 18mm, pitch 1.5mm, Hex 22mm = approximately 45-55 N・m (4.5-5.5 kgf・m)
(12) Do not allow the lead wires or connector to touch the exhaust manifold or other high-temperature parts.
(13) Route the lead wires in the same way as the original and securely attach the connector.
(14) Depending on the condition of your vehicle, replacing only the O2 sensor may not resolve the problem.
(15) When the MIL illuminates, before (or after) replacing the sensor, follow the service manual etc. and
always clear (reset) the diagnostic (self-diagnosis/OBD) error code.
Failure to clear the error code may lead to problems such as the MIL not turning off.
