Precautions when choosing racing spark plugs:
From the part number of your genuine plug or currently used plug, check the thread size, plug type, and shape, then select the corresponding type.
Please refer to the manufacturer's website for guidance on choosing the ignition end shape.
The heat rating needs to be selected considering the increase in combustion temperature due to engine output improvement and operating conditions, in order to maintain the plug's ignition end temperature within the optimal range.
Simply increasing the heat rating will not improve engine performance.
Generally, heat ratings of 7-8 are used for street driving, 8-9 for track day specifications, and 9-10 for race specifications.
Regarding the presence or absence of a plug resistor, there is now little difference due to improved ignition system performance.
Resistor-type plugs will become the mainstream going forward.
Conversely, non-resistor type plugs may cause engine trouble in some models of some vehicle types.
In such cases, always use a resistor-type plug.
