Racing spark plugs, recommended for two-wheel and four-wheel vehicles, come in various types designed to further enhance performance when used in races, circuit driving, or with engines whose output has been increased through tuning.
Consequently, their shape differs from the standard plugs specified by the manufacturer, and there may be some compromise in plug life and low-speed performance.
However, conversely, they are developed and designed to fully demonstrate their performance and withstand extremely tuned engines and very harsh operating conditions, with a wide range of heat ratings.

Precautions when choosing racing spark plugs
From the part number of your genuine plug or the plug currently in use, determine the thread size, plug type, and shape, and then select the corresponding type.

The heat rating needs to be selected considering the increased combustion temperature due to engine output improvement and operating conditions, in order to maintain the spark plug tip temperature within the optimal range.
Simply increasing the heat rating alone will not improve engine performance.
For mainly street use, numbers 7-8 are common; for track day specifications, 8-9; and for race specifications, 9-10 are used.
In recent years, due to improvements in ignition system performance, there is almost no difference whether the plug has a resistor or not.
Resistor-type plugs will become the mainstream in the future.
Conversely, non-resistor type plugs may cause engine trouble in some models of certain vehicle types.
In such cases, always use a resistor-type plug.
