[NGK R7282-9 Racing Spark Plug 4753 ngk r7282-9-4753]
Racing spark plugs, recommended for both two-wheelers and four-wheelers, are available in various types designed to further enhance performance when used in races, circuit driving, or with engines that have increased output due to tuning.
Consequently, their shape differs from the manufacturer's standard specified plugs, and there may be a slight compromise in plug lifespan and low-speed performance.
However, conversely, they are developed and designed to fully demonstrate performance even in extremely tuned engines or under very severe operating conditions, and can withstand such conditions, with a wide range of heat ratings set.
Please select the appropriate plug for each engine to fully unleash its performance.
Precautions for choosing racing spark plugs
Research the thread size, plug type, and shape from the part number of your genuine plug or the plug currently in use, and select the corresponding type.
Please refer to the manufacturer's website for guidance on how to choose the firing end shape.
The heat rating needs to be selected considering the increased combustion temperature due to engine output improvement and operating conditions, in order to keep the spark plug's firing end within the optimal temperature range.
Simply increasing the heat rating alone will not improve engine performance.
Generally, heat ratings of 7-8 are used for street driving, 8-9 for track day specifications, and 9-10 for race specifications.
The presence or absence of a resistor in the plug makes almost no difference nowadays due to improvements in ignition system performance.
Resistor-type plugs are expected to become the mainstream in the future.
Conversely, using a non-resistor type may cause engine trouble in some models of certain vehicle types.
In such cases, please be sure to use a resistor-type plug.
