Racing plugs recommended for two-wheelers and four-wheelers come in various types designed to further improve performance when used in races, circuit driving, or with engines that have increased output due to tuning.
Consequently, their shape differs from the manufacturer's standard plugs, and plug life and low-speed performance may be slightly compromised.
However, on the other hand, they are developed and designed to perform fully and withstand extremely tuned engines and very severe operating conditions, with a wide range of heat ratings up to very high values.
Please select the appropriate plug for your individual engine to fully unleash its performance.
Points to note when choosing a racing plug:
From the genuine plug or the part number of the plug you are currently using, determine the screw size, plug type, and shape, then select the corresponding type.
Please refer to the manufacturer's website for guidance on how to choose the igniter tip shape.
The heat rating needs to be selected considering the increase in combustion temperature due to improved engine output and operating conditions, in order to keep the plug's igniter tip temperature within the optimal range.
Simply increasing the heat rating alone will not improve engine performance.
Generally, for city driving, numbers 7-8 are used; for track days, numbers 8-9; and for racing, numbers 9-10.
Regarding the presence or absence of a plug resistor, there is almost no difference recently due to improvements in ignition system performance.
Resistor types will become the mainstream in the future.
Conversely, with non-resistor types, there is a risk of engine trouble in some models of some vehicle types.
In such cases, please be sure to use a resistor type.
