Precautions when choosing racing plugs

The heat rating needs to be selected to maintain the optimal temperature range for the plug's firing end, taking into account the increase in combustion temperature due to improved engine output and operating conditions.
Simply increasing the heat rating alone will not improve engine performance.
Generally, heat ratings of 7-8 are used for city driving, 8-9 for track days, and 9-10 for racing.
The presence or absence of a resistor in the plug makes almost no difference nowadays due to improvements in ignition system performance.
Resistor-type plugs will become mainstream in the future.
Conversely, non-resistor types may cause engine trouble in some models of some vehicle types.
