【NGK R7437-8 Racing Plug 4901 ngk r7437-8-4901】
Racing plugs recommended for motorcycles and cars come in various types, designed to further improve performance when used in races, circuit driving, or with engines tuned for higher output.
Consequently, their shape differs from the manufacturer's standard plugs, and there may be a slight compromise in plug lifespan or low-speed performance.
However, conversely, they are developed and designed to perform optimally and withstand even in highly tuned engines or extremely harsh operating conditions, with a wide range of heat ratings.
Please select the appropriate plug for your individual engine to achieve full performance.
Important Considerations for Choosing Racing Plugs
Determine the thread size, plug type, and shape from your genuine plug or the plug you are currently using, and then select the corresponding type.
Please refer to the manufacturer's website for guidance on choosing the spark end shape.
The heat range needs to be selected to maintain the spark end temperature within the optimal range, taking into account the rise in combustion temperature due to increased engine output and operating conditions.
Simply increasing the heat range will not improve engine performance.
For mainly street use, numbers 7-8 are commonly used, for track day specifications, 8-9, and for race specifications, 9-10.
The presence or absence of a resistor in the plug makes almost no difference nowadays due to improvements in ignition system performance.
Resistor types will become the mainstream in the future.
Conversely, non-resistor types may cause engine problems in some models of certain vehicle types.
In such cases, please be sure to use a resistor type.
