What is an EL meter?
An EL meter is a sheet-like display that applies E.L (electroluminescence), a substance that emits light when voltage is applied, to a meter.
Because EL sheets can be ultra-thin (approx. 0.2mm), a paneled version for automobiles and motorcycles is affixed to the normal meter and electrically illuminated.
EL meters achieve high brightness at low voltage, and since they emit light as a surface rather than individual points, the entire panel illuminates evenly and uniformly.
