What is an EL Meter?
An EL meter is a sheet of E.L. (electroluminescence) display material, which emits light when voltage is applied, adapted for use in meters.
Since E.L. sheets can be ultra-thin (approx. 0.2mm), they are paneled for use in cars and motorcycles, then applied over the normal meters to emit light electrically.
EL meters achieve high brightness at low voltage, and because they emit light across a surface rather than from a point, the entire panel illuminates uniformly without unevenness.
The vivid illumination at night, in particular, will make night touring more enjoyable.
