What is an EL meter?
It is a sheet-like material made by applying E.L (electroluminescence) display, which emits light when voltage is applied, to a meter.
Because E.L sheets can be ultra-thin (approx. 0.2mm), they are paneled for automobiles and motorcycles, then attached over the normal meter and electrically illuminated.
