What is an EL meter?
An EL (electroluminescence) display is a substance that emits light when voltage is applied. It has been applied to meters and formed into a sheet.
Because EL sheets can be ultra-thin (approx. 0.2mm), they are paneled for cars and motorcycles, pasted over the normal meter, and made to emit light electrically.
EL meters achieve high brightness with low voltage, and since they emit light from a surface rather than a point, the entire panel emits light evenly and uniformly.
