What is an EL Meter?
EL (Electroluminescence) display, a material that emits light when voltage is applied, is applied to a meter and formed into a sheet.
Because EL sheets can be ultra-thin (approx. 0.2mm), a panelized version for automobiles and motorcycles is affixed over the normal meter and electrically illuminated.
EL meters achieve high brightness with low voltage, and since they emit light as a surface rather than a point, the entire panel illuminates evenly and uniformly.
The vivid illumination at night, in particular, will make night touring more enjoyable.
