Metal core gaskets use 0.2mm SPCC material (steel) for the core, significantly reducing oil seepage caused by torque reduction* compared to conventional resin-based gaskets.
By sandwiching both sides of the core material with 0.2mm foamed NBR material (nitrile rubber), the gasket's conformability to the mating surface is improved, providing high sealing performance.
Furthermore, this foamed NBR material does not stick to the gasket surface, eliminating the need for gasket removal work when detaching engine covers, thus improving maintainability.
Additionally, it supports fully synthetic oils, which could not be used with conventional engine gaskets due to "leakage and seepage" issues, allowing the use of the latest high-performance oils with excellent fluidity.
*Torque reduction: The decrease in bolt torque after fastening with the appropriate torque, due to the gasket compressing.
