Metal core gaskets use a 0.2mm SPCC (steel) core material, which significantly reduces oil seepage caused by torque loss (※) compared to conventional resin-based gaskets.
By sandwiching both sides of the core material with 0.2mm foamed NBR (nitrile rubber), the gasket's conformability to the mating surface is improved, providing high sealing performance.
Furthermore, this foamed NBR material does not stick to the gasket surface, eliminating the need for gasket removal work when detaching the engine cover, thus improving maintainability.
In addition, it is compatible with fully synthetic oils, which could not be used with conventional engine gaskets due to issues of "leaks and seepage," allowing for the use of the latest high-performance oils with excellent fluidity.
※Torque loss: A reduction in bolt torque after fastening with the appropriate torque, caused by the gasket crushing.
