Compared to conventional resin-based gaskets, metal core gaskets significantly reduce oil seepage caused by torque reduction (※) by using 0.2mm SPCC material (steel) as the core material.
By sandwiching both sides of the core material with 0.2mm foamed NBR material (nitrile rubber), the gasket's conformability to the mating surface is improved, achieving high sealing performance.
Additionally, since this foamed NBR material does not stick to the gasket surface, it eliminates the need for gasket removal work when detaching engine covers, improving maintainability.
Furthermore, it is compatible with fully synthetic oils, which could not be used with conventional engine gaskets due to issues of "leaks and seepage," making it possible to use the latest high-performance oils with excellent fluidity.
※Torque reduction: When the gasket compresses after being fastened with the appropriate torque, causing the bolt's torque to decrease.
