The exhaust pipe, from the engine exhaust port to just before the silencer, is made of steel.
The exhaust pipe is carefully polished by craftsmen through dozens of processes, then copper-plated, nickel-plated, and finally hard chrome-plated.
This creates the unique luster of steel plating, which changes into a distinctive burnished color as heat from the exhaust is applied.
In addition, the exhaust note produced by steel has a unique, high-quality sound.
