Primaloft, used as the insulation in the inner jacket, was developed by AlBany Inc. in the USA as an insulation material for the US military. It is an ultra-fine microfiber material that combines ultra-lightweight, excellent thermal performance, water repellency, and easy maintenance, making it a revolutionary synthetic insulation usable in harsh environments. By combining the N-3B, designed for use in extreme cold, with the high-performance Primaloft insulation, a high-spec winter jacket has been completed. Furthermore, with its ventilation system, the inner jacket can be removed, allowing it to function as a 3-season jacket throughout autumn, winter, and spring.
